Run! A Litquake Approacheth!

Issue 2 with Charles Yu!

Charles Yu's work can be found inside this magazine (Issue 2: Wither Exploration?)—and it still is guaranteed not to explode (or quake)!

Just kidding. Don’t run. Or, at least, don’t run away—run toward the Litquake, which, if you don’t know, is San Francisco’s Literary Festival (now you know). And this year, this Sunday, July 10, Explosion Proof’s very own Charles Yu is appearing at the Brava theater (2781 24th St.) with two other literary rockstars (“hailed as the heirs to David Foster Wallace…and Thomas Pynchon“), Adam Levin and Jesse Ball, to—what did you expect?—talk about literature. Beyond having written that terrific short for us, Yu has written the Douglas Adams-esque novel, How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe, and the short story collection, Third Class Superheros. He also received recognition as one of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35. So, in short, if you’re in San Fran—get to this event. If you’re not, well, we wish we could be there, too, and, instead, will attempt to console ourselves by re-reading some Yu this Sunday at 7 PM.

Come to think of it, that’s not such a bad consolation.
